Day 4!

When we left Medicine Hat this morning it was 12 degrees (that's about 50 for the metrically challenged).. or about like January in Dallas..... It was COLD... Hours of long straight roads in the morning, then we got into Calgary... lots of traffic & stoplights to get through town. Stopped at the Chiniki Indian reservation for a late breakfast, had some Indian frybread & eggs,,, Best food I've had so far on this trip, I love frybread. Got to Banff, very touristy in town, lots of traffic, elbow to elbow people, found a Masonic Lodge in town & stopped there, got a few photo's of it. Turned north again after 1,000 miles of going west, and had 30 miles of bumper to bumper slow traffic & construction... thought this was going to be miserable, but it cleared up after we made the Jasper Cutoff. Then we had 180 miles of absolutely beautiful mountain roads, saw our first bear on the roadside... we're spending the night in Jasper, Alberta now. We're less than 400 miles from the start of the Alaska Highway, we'll be there fairly early tomorrow.. it's pretty exciting to be this close!

The temp in the mountains stayed around 40b degrees all day, prett cool here.
